The Content Emphasis Graduate Program is a 36-hour plan designed especially for individuals who teach in departmentalized or middle-school classrooms. The program includes advanced study of educational research, assessment, and the significant characteristics of learners. A 12-hour option allows specialization in one of the following areas: reading, mathematics teaching, ESL/bilingual, or early childhood. The academic content component consists of 12 graduate-level semester hours from one subject area or a combination of subject areas. Courses may be selected from various content fields that support the knowledge base for specific teaching assignments.
