The family and consumer sciences focus provides experience and knowledge in all the Human Sciences subject areas. This major prepares students for broad-based employment in the field of Human Sciences and for effective individual and family living.
Students pursuing the MSHS will complete the 18-hour MSHS core, which consists of:
HMS 500: Philosophy of Human Sciences
HMS 501: Service Management in the Human Sciences
HMS 502: Employee Development Issues in Human Sciences
HMS 540: Consumer Problems
SOC 550: Social Statistics
SOC 551: Sociological Inquiry
Students will choose final hours (depending on whether or not they are pursuing a thesis) in consultation with their advisor, based on the students' needs and interests.
